5 yrs ago we decided to leave the "rat race" and come and live permanently on our farm which up until then was our holiday place.  Each time we came up it was difficult for us to have to pack up and leave the farm to have to go back to the city.

Then one day we sat on the stoep watching the cars go by as people were heading back to the city and we decided to think "out of the box" as to how we could make it possible to live permanently on the farm.  Pretty soon I resigning and my husband sold his factory and we were packing up to move lock stock and barrel to the farm!

The farm is situated approximately 200 km from Cape Town a few kilometers just before a little fishing village called Elands Bay along the West Coast. It lies along the coast with 2 km of private beach front and still has all it's natural vegetation which is "Fynbos" which has many medicinal properties.

In the 5 years that we have been here, we have never been healthier.  We planted our own organic veggie garden, have a few sheep and have not been ill once since we have been here. No colds and flu or endless sinus related problems like we had in the past.

Because our farm is such a stunning place we decided we would make our second farm house available for people to rent as self catering holiday accommodation.  The house has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathroom and can sleep up to 11 people.

People are able to come here and totally de-stress being immersed in nature. The beach cottage is in a peaceful environment with plenty of bird, animal and marine life. From sugar birds, bat-eared foxes to spotting wild buck at sunset or early morning when going for a leisurely walk on the farm. Experience endless beach walks watching seals, whales and dolphins and enjoying the magnificent sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean.

Elands Bay is famous for its surfing, exquisite seafood and crayfish in season.  Verlorenvlei, is a beautiful wetland and important birding area inland from Elands Bay.

The Bobbejaan Mountains have produced valuable archaeological finds and superb examples of Khoi San rock art at Elands cave.

At night the sky becomes a stargazer’s dream and one is able to clearly see the Milky Way and the various star constellations as well as satellites orbiting the earth.

There are numerous good birding sites. Notable species include African Fish Eagle, Blue Cranes, Purple Gallinule, Eastern White Pelican, African Spoonbill, Cape Shoveller, Goliath & purple Herons and European bee-eater, which breed in this area.

We hope to welcome families and groups so that they too can have a taste of the type of lifestyle that we enjoy every day!
